Since 2007, Cast N Crew (CNC) has been in existence as a support group for local homeschoolers as an educational theatre program. CNC has successfully delivered high quality memorable performances as promised to a large number of families each semester. Each year, we have steady enrollment of children who benefit from our class and re-enroll. Our growth is through word of mouth and we have never needed to advertise our program. We operate with 30-40 family groups, averaging 1-2 students per family.
I (director, Molly Lynn) have a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Education from Harding University. I have experience teaching Drama class at North Little Rock Middle School. I also personally performed in theatrical shows throughout my school and college years. CNC was started by Kathy Bartholomey, who worked with providing theatre experiences to students since her own children were young in the 1980s. Kathy is still involved with CNC as a co-director.
We provide homeschool students, ages 6-18, with both musical and nonmusical stage experiences, rehearsing once or twice weekly for 3-4 months in the fall and spring. A student in CNC will learn about all aspects of the theatre process, from read through of the script to performances all the way down to striking of the set.
